Session Info

Session Fee: $50

Sessions are up to three people and $10 extra per person.

A non-refundable retainer fee ( half your session fee) of $25 is due within 7 days of your session. This reserves the time and date for you. If payment is not recieved by this time I have the right to offer your time and date to another client.

I understand that things come up from time to time. Hey I’m a mother, I know if you have something important scheduled one of the kids is bound to get sick. If you have to cancel please do so with 24 hours of your session. If you do not do this your retainer fee can not be transfered to another date! If you do not call and reschedule your appointment, I will not give you the option of rescheduling.

I serve Rayville, LA. and the surrounding communities. I will travel up to 40 miles at no extra charge, please contact me if you are out of my area for my travel rates.

Your Session:

Your custom photo session includes a one hour session, either in the comfort of your home or at a location of our choosing. I work exclusively with natural light so I need ample sunlight. For outdoor settings, open shade is a must. I do prefer to work outdoors when the weather cooperates. The best time of day for an outdoor portrait session is about 1 and a half hours before sunset, as this time provides the most flattering light and will give your photos a warm glow. If you prefer indoor portraits, mid-afternoon provides the best lighting in most circumstances. We will need to hold your session in a room that has plenty of windows for best results.

For newborn or infant sessions, I will work with you to determine the best time of day for your baby. I fully understand that babies need lots of extra time for feedings, diaper changes, and just to be cuddled by mom or dad.

I like to take a little time at the beginning to get to know you all a little, and to help the kids to feel more comfortable with me. I want this to be a fun, relaxing experience for us all! I will not try to make your child sit in forced poses. I like to photograph people as they are, acting naturally. Does your little one love to fingerpaint? Bring ‘em! Does your child have a favorite toy, blanket, or gadget? Bring it! I strive to capture images of people just being themselves and I want to give you portraits in which you can see the beauty of “you”.

What to Wear:

Clothing is a very important component to successful portraits. Keep it simple! Jeans, khakis, and solid colors always photograph well, and simple dresses look great on little girls and moms too! Shoes aren’t a must, bare feet always look great. Try to avoid busy or loud patterns and logos, and large frills or bows as they distract from the lovely subjects! Newborns and babies under age 1 are best photographed in their birthday suits- dress them in loose clothing before the session to help avoid creases and wrinkles from tight clothes. If you prefer photos with a diaper on, I suggest a diaper cover to hide the velcro tabs and characters on the front. If more than one person is being photographed, please make sure that everyone is dressed similarly or in complimentary colors. You may bring more than one outfit to your session, (up to three) as outfit changes are allowed and encouraged.

Hi Kyla! Your pictures are awesome! It’s been about a year since I had my two-year old’s pictures done at Olan Mills (and I won’t be taking him back….lol). They were good but just too posed for my taste. I love the way your pictures are just candid and really capture the fun of being a kid. What are your rates (in addition to the sitting fee)? Thanks!
